A proactive sending church is invaluable, but the realities are often complicated. This issue of Postings addresses a few dilemmas that missionaries and churches may face.
What is a sending church?
Three key tasks summarize the role of the sending church:
1. Confirm and prepare
2. Provide pastoral oversight
3. Serve together
We will briefly unpack these concepts. Note that this definition does not identify the sending church as the place where the workers grew up or from which they receive the most financial support.
